The Team That's Devoted To Change
Individuals all across the world brought together under one purpose, one dedication, and will work relentlessly towards change.

Charlotte Smith
Hi! I’m Charlotte and I currently attend the University of Tampa. As a marine science major who is planning to pursue marine biology as a career, I have spent loads of time in the ocean studying and being around ocean animals–specifically sharks. After spending a month last summer in Fiji diving with, and researching sharks and their impact on the environment, shark conservation has become super important to me, and a passion I hope to continue with!

Chloe Kotik
I’m Chloe, a marine mammal researcher and PhD student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. While I specialize in studying the life history of killer whales and other cetaceans, I am passionate about marine science in all its forms and excited to apply my experience towards the conservation of another top ocean predator.

Kayla Davis
Hey, I'm Kayla. I recently graduated from Eckerd College with a degree in Oceanography. I currently work as a divemaster during my gap year; though, I plan to continue on to graduate school for my Master's and PhD where I hope to write my thesis and dissertation on elasmobranchs! Sharks have always been a passion of mine and so I hope to continue my work to improve conservation and education.

Cloe Caldwell
My name is Cloe Caldwell, I just graduated from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and a minor in Environmental Science. I’ve always had a passion for the ocean since my grandparents moved to Florida when I was just two years old! I hope to build a career that supports ocean conservation, especially for sharks and rays.

Cameron Shaw
My name is Cameron, and I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Miami, specializing in Marine Conservation and Education. Ever since I watched Dolphin Tale in 2011, I knew that the ocean was my calling. Advocacy for marine life has always been my dream, but sharing my passion through education and outreach is what I value most. As a member of the Definders Team, I hope to continue educating the public about the crucial role of sharks in our ecosystem and the remarkable diversity of our oceans!
